Job description: 


  • Overseeing  the development and implementation of HR programs and initiatives to drive business performance 
  • Lead the development of HR plans that align to business strategy 
  • Ensure that all HR policies, programs, and practices are reviewed regularly and keep management informed of new developments 
  • Preparation of regular reporting and updates on HR initiatives and metrics 
  • Assess training requirements for the business and establish plans to address these needs, including new employee orientation, management development etc. 
  • Development and management of robust recruitment and onboarding processes to attract and retain a high performing workforce 
  • Monitor and advise managers and supervisors on disciplinary procedures. Monitor the implementation of a performance improvement process with non-performing employees 
  • Implement cost effective, employee focussed benefits and monitor the benefits environment on an ongoing basis for options and cost savings 
  • Protect the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company HR policies and governmental laws and regulations 
  • Design, direct, and manage organisation development practices that focus on succession planning, workforce development and key employee retention 
  • Development and implementation of all HR, administration and uniform policies and procedures 
  • Ensure maintenance of all HR data, records and information to required standards 


Minimum job requirements:  

  • Relevant Bachelor Degree  in HR or Business is a distinct advantage 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ HR experience in a commercial HR environment 
  • Fluent in English is an essential requirement for this role 
  • Proven experience delivering and embedding HR best practice approaches & methodologies 
  • Excellent understanding of HR processes, systems and metrics 


Profile of the requested candidate: 

  • Self-starter and comfortable working independently 
  • Credibility, strong influencing and communication skills 
  • Good working knowledge of current employee legislation and HR policies and procedures 
  • Experience working in a shift-based environment  
  • Excellent understanding of HR administrative processes 
  • Knowledge of the retail sector
